چکیده

Sensitivity, specifity, high time resolution and cost effective simultaneous measurements of several components using operational systems are the main requirements for atmospheric research and air pollution monitoring. Tunable diode lasers absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) is increasingly beeing used to measure atmospheric trace gas concentrations down to low ppb-levels volume mixing ratio). This optical technique fulfills the requirements for trace gas analysis in the atmosphere for most of the smaller molecules with resolved absorption spectra. Semiconductor lead salt diode lasers give access to the mid infrared spectral region, where the most important atmospheric constituents have strong rotational vibrational absorption bands. The application of high frequency modulation (FM) schemes can further improve sensitivity and detection speed of modem instnunentation.

Ammonia Monitoring Near 1.5 mum with Diode-Laser Absorption Sensors.

We investigated ammonia spectroscopy near 1.5 mum to select transitions appropriate for trace ammonia detection in air-quality and combustion emissions-monitoring applications using diode lasers. Six ammonia features were selected for these trace-gas detection applications based on their transition strengths and isolation from interfering species. The strengths, positions, and lower-state energ...

Novel diode laser-based sensors for gas sensing applications.

The development of compact spectroscopic gas sensors and their applications to environmental sensing will be described. These sensors employ mid-infrared difference-frequency generation (DFG) in periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) crystals pumped by two single-frequency solid state lasers such as diode lasers, diode-pumped solid state, and fiber lasers. Ultrasensitive, highly selective, a...

Application of quantum cascade lasers to trace gas analysis

Quantum cascade (QC) lasers are virtually ideal mid-infrared sources for trace gas monitoring. They can be fabricated to operate at any of a very wide range of wavelengths from ∼ 3 μm to ∼ 24 μm. Seizing the opportunity presented by mid-infrared QC lasers, several groups world-wide are actively applying them to trace gas sensing. Real world applications include environmental monitoring, industr...
